You can only return a security deposit on or after the renter's move-out date.
Steps to return a security deposit
- Go to Return Deposit.
- Select the tenant or group that is eligible for a returned deposit. Continue to the next step.
- List any deductions and reasons for them, add interest if applicable, and submit.
Why would a renter be ineligible for a rental deposit return?
Security deposits can only be returned to bank accounts. If a renter has not added a bank account, then they are ineligible.
Additionally, if you've marked the payment as "Made offline," the renter or group will be ineligible.
