When a renter books your space through Kopa, your calendar is blocked for the dates of the booking. You may notice a difference between how availability is managed on the Kopa calendar compared to other platforms' calendars.
Biggest difference: Blocked off move-in and move-out days
When a renter books your space on Kopa, the move-in and move-out days are marked as unavailable for each booking. This means that if a renter moves out on August 15, the next available date for someone to book is August 16. This is different from other platforms, specifically those that specialize in short-term rentals like Airbnb and VRBO, which allow renters to book the same day that someone moves out the space.
We chose to block off full days for renters to move in and out because renters on Kopa are booking spaces for mid-term stays (1-12 months), which requires extra time and flexibility for those days compared to short-term rentals.
