Hosts have 5 days to officially accept or decline a booking request before it expires. This provides hosts enough time to get to know you, if they choose. You'll be updated by email about the status of your request. If more time is needed, you can send another booking request after expiration.
If a host accepts your request and they have set a booking deposit amount on the listing, you will receive a payment request from the host. After successfully sending the payment, your booking will automatically be confirmed and your payment processed. If a host declines your request or the request expires, we don't process your payment.
What happens if my booking request is declined or expires?
If your booking request is declined by the host or expires, meaning the host didn’t respond within 5 days, no charge is made for the booking and you will be able to book a different listing.
We urge our hosts to keep their calendars up to date and respond to requests in a timely manner. But, sometimes situations come up that prevent this from happening.
We recommend submitting multiple booking requests (up to 5 active at a time) in case you do not hear back from a host.
